I feel like collection development is one of those things that it's so hard to teach in library school and takes so much experience to really do well. It's one place I still feel like the newest newbie -- I always doubt my CD skillz. I often wait til the last minute to do it, right before the acquisitions deadline. And don't even get me started about weeding...

I agree Nora. Although I think I'm going to have to print them out and post them near my computer. I'm not always great about remembering some of the good advice I've found. Thanks so much for reading my blog.

Hello. I found your blog to be quite interesting. Orwell's "six rules to follow when logical instinct fails in the writing process," all help to shape up any sort of writing project. I will be sure to keep them in mind!

Take care,

You are very welcome Maura. Yes, the article is good advice. As for the article series, it is going well. I have plenty of material to pick from. This week's post will tap into my English major background. Hopefully it will peak some interest.

Thanks for the kind words! That Houghton-Jan article is so great, full of excellent advice. Wish I could say I was following that advice right now, but we're in our busiest time for instruction during the semester so my good habits have slipped some... Hoping to get back to them soon, though.

Thanks for keeping up the article series. It's great to read about what others are reading.

Thanks so much for that Lee. I certainly expect to have more to say on tenure-track in the future.

While I may not comment all the time, I do pull your blog into google reader and watch what you say. I have a deep interest in your perspective and thoughts on tenure-track for faculty librarians.

Interesting stuff.

Kind regards,
Lee
